Worship: Don't be a Spock!

⊆ 11:21 PM by Zach Tanksley | ˜ Comments

I took an EXTREMELY informal survey today.

The question?

"Is joy in singing or playing for that matter, in worship leading a diminishing trend?"

The general survey seems to think yes. But for different reasons.

One answer relates to the concept that churches are looking after talent rather than joy.

The other answer asks the question whether or not those filled with joy are being overworked, underappreciated, and hence just getting burned out.

and the best quote came from Rich Kirkpatrick

"yes... I think I am postmodern, I guess, in thinking that just because worship is literally giving worth to God does not mean that God is wanting you to worship like Spock...worship like a human, dang it"

My thought is just that, if we are really going to lead others in praise to God, we of all people should be actually praising God. Not because it is the "christian" thing to do, or because it is our duty on sunday morning, but rather, because we are actually thankful and grateful and want to give that praise!

Just a thought.

Moonstone Bistro to change availability?

⊆ 11:13 PM by Zach Tanksley | ˜ Comments

It would appear that Redding's metropolitan "Moonstone Bistro" will be heading into a new season in a few weeks. Most likely sometime February. The new season? Being available to have a meal 7 Days a week.

The changes would bring about a dinner on Sunday nights, and a Monday lunch/dinner entrance. What a fantastic way to either end a week or start a new one.

Hope to see you all there!
